Cancellation policy

More than 30 days before arrival: you lose the deposit only if suppliers have already charged us non-refundable amounts.

15–30 days: 30% of the trip cost.

7–14 days: 60% of the trip cost.

Less than 7 days or no-show: 100% of the trip cost.

Some services — domestic flights, train tickets, peak-season hotels, Tibet permits — are non-refundable once issued, and are shown separately on your invoice.

Cancellation must be made in writing by the lead traveller, by email to the address on your confirmation. The date we receive that email is the date used to calculate charges.

We will acknowledge your cancellation within one working day and send a final statement showing any refund due.

Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 working days of the final statement.

Where a supplier offers a credit note rather than a cash refund, we will tell you and let you choose.

Bank charges and currency fluctuations are not refundable.

We very rarely cancel a confirmed trip. If we do — for example because a region becomes inaccessible — you may choose an alternative itinerary of equivalent standard, a credit note, or a full refund of everything you have paid us.

Where a trip cannot proceed because of events outside anyone’s control (natural disaster, epidemic, government restriction, civil unrest), we will work with suppliers to recover as much as possible and pass the recovered amount back to you. We do not charge our own fee in these circumstances.

Most cancellation charges are recoverable under a standard travel insurance policy that includes cancellation cover. We strongly recommend arranging insurance at the time of booking, not at the time of departure.
